Rustic Contemporary Living Room | Styles for a Modern Look

Basically a Dutton Ranch x Anthro collaboration. If you asked me my style for this house, that would be my best answer. I am in love with so many different design styles that it’s really hard for me to try and keep each room aligned. Our last house was a poster child for Farmhouse which I will always hold a place in my heart! but I am never one to sit still with a style for long. Ask my mom – for fun, I’d beg to remodel my bedroom every few years.

Anyway, right now I’m most drawn to the warm feel that Western design brings, but need a little of that modern balance. Rustic contemporary? Modern rustic? Contemporary farmhouse? Whatever you want to call it, I call it cozy but clean. Light neutrals with pops of bold color and warm metal finishes. Brass, bronze, copper, gimme all of it.

Wagon wheel chandelier: I love that at 40in. wide, it’s so big but doesn’t visually block too much space because of how open it is. This one is The Gray Barn Highclere 12-light Wagon Wheel Chandelier, Overstock
Roman clay fireplace: I’m going to attempt to DIY this, post to come on that! But the product I’ve sampled is Portola Paints Roman Clay in the color Jacket.
Elk Skull mount: My mom thinks I’m weird, but she still bought it for us for Christmas. That’s love. This thing is massive! And heavy, but I can’t wait to put it on the fireplace. Ours is from Cast Horn Designs
Media console: My year might have already peaked too early, but I scored this gorg Amber Lewis for Anthropologie media console at a local equivalent to a scratch & dent shop for $500! It’s originally $1900+ . Changing my handle to @Disc0untQueen
Sectional: I try my best to balance aesthetics with practically. So maybe I didn’t let my husband have a ceiling fan instead of a chandelier (I said TRY). But I will not sacrifice comfort when it comes to sofas in our living room. This sectional from Coleman Furniture is actually a great price for how many seats it has.
